- Web Application Developer
- Contributed to enhancing projects and supported existing features of www.pamperedchef.com and the intranet web applications utilizing Java (including Hibernate, JSP, Struts, Velocity, JSTL, JUnit, and WATIJ), Ruby on Rails, Eclipse, XML, Oracle, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Co-led a project which consisted of 5 other developers and allowed for Pampered Chef Consultants to make online purchases using gift certificates issued by the company.
- Initiated the development of the Product Maintenance Intranet Tool whereby details concerning Pampered Chef products could be maintained much more efficiently by developers as well as by personnel outside of the software development team. Previously, all of the product data was maintained via a direct access to the Oracle database. Portions of this application were utilized prior to my departure from the company and its development continued afterwards.
- Utilized Extreme Programming methodology and test-driven development on all development projects.
- Worked closely with the Design department as well as the QA department to ensure the delivery of high quality software to all end users—Pampered Chef Consultants, fellow employees, as well as the public.
- Web Application Support Engineer
- Oversaw and tracked web support requests that came from all departments within the company as well as from outside the company.
- Made constant significant strides in improving the efficiency of handling common support tasks and saw the efficiency rate increase by as much as 500%. For instance, in handling monthly product updates for UK and Germany, the development of a single JSP cut down the time needed for such updates from 30 minutes to less than 5 minutes
